PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

The need for people to move, do sport and have fun has contributed to evolution and development in a product like the bicycle. As a structure, functionality, and add-on capabilities, it has become a constantly changing product. Bikes have a variety of applications and there are different types and modifications: urban bicycle; mountain bicycle; road bicycle; bicycle track; modification “BMX”; “Chooper” modification; varieties of electric bicycles; freight bicycle; rickshaw and others. The relevant conceptual developments focus on the most common of all types of bicycles – city bicycles. It is possible to develop some of the concepts as a mountain bicycle.

The conceptual development undergoes development in order to improve the ideas, their overall structure, the respective functional areas and the individual details. The main changes and corrections will be developed in a new stage by designing 3D CAD models. After the completion of the stages that cover the designing, the development of test models and functional prototypes will begin. In the stage “Adaptation of Manufacturing”, the aim will be to get as close as possible to the final type of product – in the specific pre-production prototypes. There are different options for the use of types of materials and production technologies, which will cover the production of the prototypes – 3D printing, vacuum infusion (carbon fiber, hybrid fiberglass materials, etc.), etc. When making the components it is possible to use different types of rubber and polyurethane materials, as well as different types of engineering plastics.
