Device for Detecting, Measuring and Analyzing the Flow of People

Year: 2011 – 2012

Project

The project has applications in the field of marketing, statistical information processing and data analysis. The use of the product is related to measuring the flow of people entering and leaving shopping malls, business buildings, malls and various types of buildings that need this type of service. All this requires an analytical approach, taking into account the attendance and frequency of stay in a particular building. The product is positioned simultaneously – at the entrance and exit – in the interior of the room to function fully. This is done with the help of a motion sensor, which is connected to a corresponding hardware module. The goal is to mount components in the hardware housing panel, in a fully shielded panel for the purpose, with a view to optimal functioning of the device.

Development

The development took place with a team of hardware and software specialists, whose goal was to build their own hardware product. It was necessary to position and arrange the equipment in several variants in order to determine the appropriate choice of assembled structure of hardware components. The optimal functioning of the hardware components was essential – in view of possible interference, operation of sensors, sending data to the relevant software and their processing. Here too, as in the overall idea of a stand and panel kit – the panel had to be assembled to a flat part connected to a metal stand, and to the inside of the panel the hardware components of the device, with additional structural elements, were to be mounted. The structure was designed to allow for easy access to components in the housing panel of replacement or partial repair. All of this was adapted to a specific type of hardware housing panel production technology, as well as to suitable materials, taking into account the planned small-scale production of the potential product – vacuum plastic molding. The metal module of the stand was also built with suitable materials and production technology, which was maximally refined from the point of view of production techniques.
