Relief is a very popular term in the fine arts, which can be seen in many different forms – architectural styles, decorative ornaments on the facades of buildings, inscriptions, signs and more. In sculpture it is very common in three main directions – bas-relief, high relief and counter-relief. Accordingly, the bas-relief is a low relief that protrudes no more than half the volume above the main plane; the high relief is the most pronounced due to its characteristic of voluminous and high relief; the counter-relief is a concave relief – it is the opposite relief of the bas-relief. In this project three decorative sculptures were made, type “high relief”. In this case, several examples of products that fall within the definition of “bas-relief” are shown.

Development
The development was focused on three interior accessories, adapted for hanging on the wall – decorative faces such as relief sculpture “high relief”, in three thematic variants. The first product was inspired by the movie “I, Robot”. Industrial designer clay was used to make the main relief model; for the production of the mold a hybrid mixture was used – gypsum, C200 and chopped glass; the final product is made of composite materials – fiberglass, polyester resin and gelcoat. The second product was a thematic solution in the direction of an alien, with pronounced feminine features. Industrial designer clay was used to make the main relief model; a classic composite combination of materials was used to make the mold – fiberglass, polyester resin and gelcoat; the final product is made of composite materials – fiberglass, polyester resin and gelcoat. The third product is also a film-themed interpretation – “Mission to Mars”. In this case there was no mold, because the product was made of polyurethane foam block, finished with polyester putty and spray putty. All three types of faces are made in different colors, and over time, different color options and effects are performed.
The remaining products also with a relief structure are: coat of arms, folk mask and abstract structure. For the production of the mold and the final product of the coat of arms, fiberglass, chopped glass mat, polyester resin and gelcoat were used, and for the production of the main model, MDF was used, through milling and finishing manual procedures. In the production of the folk mask, several types of materials were combined – foamed PVC to build the main structure of the mask to which were added details of cotton, wool, threads, metal accessories and paint, and a wooden stand was made for the installation of the mask. The abstract structure is made mainly of wood – the stand and the wooden elements, the purpose of which is to give spatiality to the concept, based on a built color composition.
