Different types of hood scoops can often be seen as additional details on the front covers of different car models. The main function of this car accessory is to bring in fresh air to reach the car’s engine with the help of additional air intake pipes. All this is assembled under the hood, and the visible part is only the body hull of the outdoor unit of the hood scoop. This project was aimed at making just such an accessory – the development of a classic type of hood scoop for a racing car Subaru Impreza. Among fans of the Subaru Impreza, this is a memorable type of product and a desirable accessory.

Making a Model for a Hood Scoop Mold – Main Model – Industrial Clay
Development
The main goal before the development was to achieve an identity close to the original hood scoop. The stability of the structure and the adaptation of the characteristic slope for the introduction of the air flow were also important. Achieving compliance was mandatory – with the type of hood scoop, popular as a modification and functionality in this type of car. The hood scoop in question has a specific and pronounced structure, mainly due to its height as a gauge. The ribs in the front of the hole are part of the overall shape of the product. The attachment to the lid was done through studs, which were added in the manufacturing process – an additional stage of modifications in the product. Its attachment and installation is done by fixing the studs and screwing with bolts. The base in the front cover of the car, in which the hood scoop is placed, is provided purely technologically in its production. Industrial designer clay was used to make the main models of the product. For the production of the mold and the final products were used – fiberglass, polyester resin and gelcoat, as well as polyester and fibrous putty.
